About
I became a content strategist because it seemed like the logical next step after years as a marketing and technical copywriter – I wanted to look at the bigger picture. I’ve always been someone who sees how different things come together and can take a holistic, macro-level view. And I love collaborating and feeling the energy of working on a team, rather than being off in a writing silo.
I’ve worked in both freelance and full-time roles, across industries, from engineering and B2B technology to automotive to health care to education. I’ve helped the Chicago Tribune develop a real estate site that featured neighborhood-rich content and worked with General Motors to create a mobile app that would let dealer-averse millennials and Gen Z consumers buy cars without having to haggle over prices or even put down their phones. I’ve helped two universities think more strategically about how their content can better motivate busy working adults to take more courses.
The common thread is my ability to see the bigger picture, the larger context, and contribute to creating systems, processes and content that achieves that transformation. As my content strategy journey continues and new technology (don’t fear AI – harness it for good!) emerges that’s upending how we live and consume information, my work continues evolving to incorporate those digital transformations. I embrace innovation and have always harbored deep curiosity about technology, language and how it can all be engaged to create something useful, relevant and meaningful.
My career and life has led me through advertising in New York, tech writing in Seattle, teaching English in Spain, and now content strategy from a Chicago base. My passions are language, dogs, literature, cooking and figuring out how I can best serve.
