Between Friends
As a volunteer with Taproot Foundation, I served as the content strategist and copywriter for a redesign of the site for Between Friends, a Chicago nonprofit working to prevent domestic violence. The entire site was updated with new graphics and a “safety” exit for anyone in immediate danger to close the browser quickly. We created a new site that would serve potential donors and volunteers as well as provide resources and immediate paths to help for those suffering from domestic violence. We also needed to protect the identities of those served by the program for their safety; many of the images of faces on our new site were either cropped out or blurred.
Tuesday’s Child
Tuesday’s Child is a nonprofit that supports parents. Initially, I thought the program was only for parents dealing with behavioral challenges from their young children, but the program provides support and resources for all parents. We redesigned their out-of-date site and gave them the ability to keep maintain it themselves, including blog content they update.
